Planting Instructions

  • Free, grant-funded trees available each spring and fall for planting on public or not-for-profit property in financially underserved communities in St. Louis City and County
  • Over 5,000 trees distributed since 1995
  • Ideal for high-need park, school, municipal and not-for-profit plantings
  • Trees are balled and burlapped, or 15-gallon, and 5-10’ tall depending on the species, and approximately 1.25” in caliper
  • Planning and planting advice is provided
  • Contact us at 314/533-5323 or info@moreleaf.org if you have any questions or if you would like to receive an application for your community
  • Based on available funding, trees are awarded to qualified applicants each spring and fall
  • Recipients must have permission to plant from property owner or governing agency, and pick up the trees at CommuniTree Gardens, Forest ReLeaf’s community nursery located in Creve Coeur Park, in Maryland Heights, MO
